A few months ago, my buddy, Marc Cheever of Big Beard comics, asked me if I would like to consummate our mutual love of gyros by working on a comic together. I know that sounds confusingly erotic, but let me explain. We’ve come together to work on a brand new comic that is set to be released on Halloween. It spawned out of an inside joke we have about loving gyros. The story centers around a place called “Gyro Town,” a Greek diner contextually set in Fort Lauderdale, FL in the 1980s. I don’t want to get into too much detail, but the very first issue sets the stage right away with such great calamity, it changes the city forever.
The first issue will be thrown into a Big Beard compilation of various comics that Marc is collaborating on with other illustrators, etc. The magazine will be printed full size and in high quality. The plan is that, after this first issue, each comic book will branch out into their own comic books. Anyhow, I plan on keeping you guys posted on all the upcoming news with that.
